Sunday long rides, like any other ride, are always dependent on the weather. We'll let everyone know as we get close to start time how it's looking for this week's ride.
As of Saturday evening, the forecast calls for 70% chance of light rain Sunday AM and a 60% chance of thundershowers in the afternoon. Temperature for early AM is predicted to be only 8C but warming up to 18C in the afternoon. So, overall, it looks like there is a chance we can start our ride at 11AM as originally scheduled. We will update this in the AM and make a final call at around 9AM.
It is now just after 9AM on Sunday and the weather looks like it has cleared up and the sun is trying very hard to dry the roads out in time for our 11AM ride. So, unless something changes drastically before 11AM, it looks like it is safe to say we will be riding as scheduled. This is intended to be a longer, aerobic paced ride and we do hope to be able to keep the group sort of together on the road yet still enable everyone to find their own pace. The route we are planning on taking will have some naturally placed spots where we can easily regroup. We hope everyone gets what they need out of it. Be prepared to do a short run after the bike ride.
