In 2014 I registered for my first full Ironman. I spent a year training only to see the race cancelled 5 minutes before the start. With a credit for another IM, the new race fell on my husband's 45th birthday, so as a special gift I signed him up too!

I never intended to become a triathlete. I just wanted to show up, qualify for Kona Ironman, and scratch it off my bucket list. But I'm grateful for my ignorance of the addictiveness of the sport at the time, because it changed my life!

Gord is a former Olympic Wrestler. He started triathlon in 2005, specializing in sprint distance. Since 2005, Gord has been the Canadian National Sprint Distance Champion in his age class five times. Gord runs a 4 minute kilometre.
