Mari Chartier

Edmonton, Alberta

Hello!  My name is Mari Chartier, and I have been a triathlete for only a couple years now.  I came to the sport after completing three full marathons and wanting a bigger challenge.

I have raced the Lavaman Waikoloa Triathlon in Hawaii, Coronation Triathlon, Great White North, and ITU Edmonton.

This sport can be overwhelming for "newbies", so I'm looking forward to sharing the knowledge I have gained, as well as learning from those around me.  I've never been the type of triathlete who wins races.  I've never been the fastest athlete out there.  But I have learned more about myself in the past two years by never giving up.  And I will continue to "show up".  I will continue to drag my little turtle butt around race courses because there are few things better in this world, than crossing that finish line knowing you worked hard to accomplish something that many others only dream about.  I love pushing myself beyond what I think is possible and being part of a really amazing triathlon community.  Mostly, I love doing triathlons because when I cross the finish line, I feel powerful.  I'm excited to be a part of the Element Ambassador Team, and hope that I can help reach out to some new triathletes to help them feel powerful too!
