I'm hoping that as an Element Ambassador, I can help foster an open and welcoming triathlon community in and around Edmonton.

I lived in South Korea for my first three years in the sport, and the esprit de corps of the clubs was what truly hooked me (after the luster of wearing lycra and pointy helmets wore off).  I'd like to share with the athletes here, some of what the Korean tri clubs do as well.
I also want to help newcomers feel welcome and less intimidated in a sport that can often seem daunting to the uninitiated.  I was stunned when I first found out how long an Olympic distance race was, never mind an Ironman.  I like for others to feel how incredible it is when you achieve your goals, despite the hardships and failures encountered.  Anyone can experience that feeling, not just the podium finishers, and anyone who wants to should!
I try to keep up with what's new in the sport, and hope to lend some knowledge, - what works, what's just hype, etc.  While no expert, I love to start and be part of lively conversations.  Race nutrition, running shoes, and "aero-fying" bikes are some of my pet subjects.  This ambassador team is an exciting initiative, so let's make it work.  See ya at or on the pool, trail, or road soon!

Race history
I've completed 5 Ironman distance races (including Challenge Penticton and Ironman Korea), 4 Half-iron distance, and 5 Olympics. Generally, I'm a bit under 5 hours for Halfs, and a bit under 11 hours for Full IM.  Hopefully I can get those down a bit more this season!
