The original Granfondo GF01 was developed with the BMC Racing Team, but its ergonomic geometry, high vertical compliance and stable handling address the direct needs of any discerning long-distance cyclist. The Granfondo GF02 has been designed for those seeking the performance and distinct ride quality of the Granfondo GF01 in a more economical package. Designed using BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) it utilizes the Granfondo GF01’s exacting geometry. Its frame is still full carbon fiber, and is equipped with standard, Shimano, rim brakes. Ultimately, the Granfondo GF02’s endurance-fit geometry and carefully selected components help you get the most out of every long ride.

  • TCC 02 Carbon, Angle Compliance Technology
  • TCC 02 Premium Carbon Compliance-Fork
  • Shimano Tiagra, 50-34T, 11-34T
  • Shimano Tiagra
  • Shimano R501 wheelset

Along with the bike, Shimano's Tiagra, too, has been updated for a cleaner look. They applied the aesthetics of Dura-Ace 9000 to their value-oriented group. You get STI dual control levers with internal cable routing. You get the four-arm 110mm bolt circle diameter spider designed for both compact, a 50/34 is employed here, and standard rings, if you choose to upgrade. The cassette is a wide-ranging 12-30, with a long cage to better wrap all the chain. Wheels are the workhorse WH-R501’s from Shimano, finished in 25mm Continental Ultra Sport 2 tires. These are durable like the wheels, but if you’re looking for more float or cushion, you can install tires up to 28mm wide.

The Granfondo platform, aka GF, was designed for riding the roughest roads imaginable, but the engineers at BMC knew that a bike that was stable and comfortable in those environments would also be a good bike for riders looking for a stable and comfortable daily bike. This is referred to as an endurance bike, but the geometry is classic road bike. Thanks to a greater bottom bracket drop, longer wheelbase, and slacker head angle than their SLR frames, the bike is more stable. Thanks to a taller head tube and shorter, albeit sloping top tube, it's easy to both feel like you're riding a compact frame by the saddle, yet have the stem very close to the head tube for greater sprinting stiffness.
