I've always lived an active, fit, and healthy lifestyle and enjoy any activity that gets me out into the Great Outdoors.  After retiring from a 20-year military career, I found myself with extra time on my hands and began seeking out a new personal challenge.  This is what lead me to triathlon.  I've been an age group athlete since 2009, and enjoy the camaraderie and sportsmanship that accompanies training and racing.  For me, the biggest thrill is the never-ending sense of amazement that comes from being part of a community in which members of varying backgrounds, levels of experience and fitness, push themselves to their own personal mental and physical limits to achieve their set goals.

Race Highlights
I've completed several Olympic and 70.3 distance triathlons, a bunch of half marathons, and a full marathon.  In 2015, I completed my first full Ironman on my 45th birthday.  Unfortunately a bike crash two weeks before the Ironman race resulted in having to tackle the event with a broken hand, which made for an interesting challenge!
