I was always athletic. Through high school I participated in pretty much every sport offered.

I had a strong running and cycling background so when finished high school, I took up triathlon and road racing, but kept to the shorter stuff in the beginning.  In 2007, I decided to attempt my first full marathon.  I was in so much pain when I crossed the finish line I swore I would never do another one.  But of course as soon as I got over the pain, I signed up for the next one.  Each time it got easier, I got faster, and my body recovered quicker.  Since then, I have completed 13 marathons, two ultra marathons, three half Ironmans, one full Ironman, and countless half marathon and Olympic distance triathlons.  I am motivated by inspiring others, and proud to have helped many people reach their health and fitness goals.

In 2014, I registered for my first Full Ironman.  I spent the entire year training only to have the race cancelled 5 minutes before the start while standing on the beach in my wetsuit, my bike all set up and ready to go.  I was given a credit for another Ironman registration, so I signed up for Louisville in October 2015.  The race happened to fall on my husband's 45th birthday, so as a special gift, I signed him up as well and we trained for our first IMs together!  Being new to the IM distance, I was shooting for a sub 12 hour finish, but surprised myself with a time of 10:14, 6th female overall, with the 3rd fastest bike split, and 2nd fastest run.  The performance landed me a Kona qualifier and I was hooked!
